People who might be available to do your duty for payment - $10 line or $15 plate. Please notify Sue if you arrange to pay someone to do your duty so we know who to expect at the game.

If you do not show up or fail to organise someone to do your umpiring you will incur a $60 fine.

Umpiring the basics

• Arrive 15-20 minutes before game time.



• ‘Sign in’ at the control box. Quote your name, club and duty, eg “Hi! Sue Arnett from Raiders for a Div 1 line please.” If you are doing a plate, you will be given the score card. Take this to the diamond with you.



• Wear proper sports shoes and a hat.



• Equipment is available in the changerooms near the canteen - plates: leg and chest guards, face mask and "clicker" are all required. lines: a clicker is recommended. committee members carry clickers you can borrow.



• Check on the rules, e.g. infield fly, 7-run rule, dead ball and Primary B rules - 10 minute innings, coach pitching - click here to go to the rules page



• Remember to call the play with a strong voice
