Life Members

We recognise the major contributions that all our life members have made over many years to ensure that we have the club that we do today. Their concerted efforts have ensured that many more players have had the opportunity to be involved in the game of softball and all that goes with it.

Since then Chris has coached 12 teams both junior and senior, running specialist training clinics and helping with individual player development. Chris is a level 4 softball statistician and has scored for numerous club teams over the years. Most recently Chris has turned to umpiring and this season achieved his level 3 umpiring accreditation, having donned the blues for Raiders for many seasons. Raiders has also benefitted greatly from Chris' administrative talents, when he served as Club President from season 2004-05 for three years. In this time, he developed the Eastern Raiders website, which remains a fantastic resource for all club members and a draw card for new players. He also encouraged and supported the first boys team to represent Eastern Raiders.

Barb Trengove (awarded 2009) Barb came to Eastern Raiders together with her eldest daughter in 1995 and promptly offered her help with scoring, even though she was new to the sport. Barb joined the Raiders committee for season 2001-02 and immediately assumed the role of Club Registrar, combining that with Club Secretary duties in 2004. In six years on the Raiders committee, Barb ensured that the club administration ran smoothly, efficiently and she established practices that continue to ensure Radiers is an efficient, structured, well-run club. Through the years of her involvement, Barb has continued to score for Raiders teams, helps with junior recruitment and training clinics, and finally picked up a glove a few years ago, promptly vying for batting awards (indeed winner B-Res 2006-07). Barb continues to help the Club and committee whenever asked and ensures our website is updated with stats, photos, news and upcoming events.

Judith Liddell (awarded 2006) Judi began playing softball in 1990. From 1992, she began playing for Eastern Raiders winning various team awards throughout her playing years for the club. She commenced her club committee life in 1993 and has held down various executive positions and key roles (including Uniform co-ordinator, Match Committee member, Umpiring co-ordinator). Judi's passion has been Junior Recruitment which she became involved in by helping Colin Thomas in 1992. Judi has contributed many hours to this important aspect of club life, juggling three small children of her own to impart basic softball skills, encourage children to have fun playing softball and ultimately get them involved in the game. Over the years Judi has coached various teams from t ball through to B grade and masters and in 2005 both played and coached the C grade team. Judi has given a lot of her time, energy and enthusiasm to Eastern Raiders and continues to do so.

Sue has not coached or been on the committee, however, she has been captain of teams she played in. Sue has also won many playing awards for batting and MVP throughout her career.
